明代的货郎图虽然大多数并没有留下绘制者信息，但故宫博物院藏有一件署名为计盛的《货郎图轴》，作者是明宣德朝直文华殿画士。从明代刘若愚《酌中志》记载可知，这类绘制为挂轴形制、风格华贵喜庆的货郎图，应是由明代宫廷画师绘制，为元宵佳节或其他节日时装饰于宫中居所之用。
